U16 Camogie Championship - Goal see Kilmessan home against Drumree

Drumree U16 Camogie (U16 A Championship)

Drumree v Kilmessan

The Drumree U16 camogie  girls had their second championship gave on April 8th when they  faced  a Kilmessan team playing in Kilmessan.  On this occasion the 14-member Drumree team faced a 15-member opposition. Even though they had a player less, the Drumree girls delivered a massive first half performance  and were leading by 1-08 to 2.01 at half time.  The second half, however,  saw a change of fortune for the Drumree girls as Kilmessan scores  5-04 v 1-02 for Drumree . The final score line (of Drumree 2-10 v  Kilmessan 7-05) could have been closer as Drumree were camped inside  the Kilmessan 20m line for the last 10-minutes of the game, but the extra player in the KIlmessan backline made it very hard for Drumree to score goals.  Again, while both teams has similar number of scores,  as the old cliché says ‘it is goals that wins matched’ and on this occasion, unfortunately, Kilmessan got the goals.

As with the earlier game in this championship, considering that Drumree has not fielded a full 15-member team, enormous credit must be given to the girls for their efforts, commitments and determination. The club should be rightly proud of their achievements.
