Drumree Lose to Trim: SHC 2013

Trim made it two wins from as many outings in the second round of the Meath SHC with a comfortable win over Drumree in ideal conditions at Kilmessan.

The game marked the return to action of former Meath star Joey Toole. Introduced at full foward Toole showed that he still has alot to offer Trim scoring 1-1 in the second half.

In a very lack lustre low scoring opening half Trim led at the break 0-4 to 0-3. The opening score didn't arrive until the 10th minute when Shane Troy pointed for Drumree, Their traditional red and white hoops were replaced by the Dunshaughlin colours because of the clash of jerseys. Trim replied with three points from Damo McGee (2) and Neil Heffernan. David Reilly and Troy got points two and three for Drumree before McGee finished the first half scoring from a free.

John Andrews speech and the introdution of Joey Toole woke Trim from their slumber and the scores followed. The town side tagged on 1-5 without reply. Fine points from Damo McGee, Shane Ashe, James Andrews, Toole and James Togher were added to by a wonderful goal from Heffernan. The lively corner foward danced his way through the Drumree defence to fire home for the games first goal. Drumree's only response was a second point from Troy. Trim finished the last ten minutes with another scoring burst that included a well taken goal from Toole and two McGee points.
