Minor Hurling League: Drumree/BHG Beat Dunboyne To Reach Final

Minor Hurling Div.2 League Semi-Final

Drumree/Blackhall Gaels qualified for the League Final where they will play Rathmolyn/Na Fianna.
This match was played in trying conditions in Dunboyne on Bank-Holiday Monday afternoon.


The visitors started brightly with four unanswered points before Dunboyne registered their first score.Dunboyne were up for this match and started to create a number of goal chances.Paul Kelly was in fine form and pulled of a number of excellent saves in the first-half.Drumree/BHG led at the interval on a score-line of 0-10 to 1-4.


Drumree/BHG started the second-half brightly with Josh Wall and Philip Carey getting early goals.This settled the team down and they started to play intelligent  hurling,trying to pick out a team-mate at all times.Shane Gallogly came off the bench and with his first touch scored a sublime point from the left-hand side.


In very sticky and heavy conditions the lads worked tirelessly throughout to run out winners on a score of 4-16 to 2-6.In an allround squad performance there were outstanding contributions from Paul Kelly,Niall Kelly,Darren Lawless,Josh Wall and Shane Whitty.


The next challenge for this team will be the Championship Semi-Final against near neighbours Kilmessan.
