Minors earn hard fought win over Dunboyne

The Drumree/Blackhall Gaels combination earned a hard fought victory in this League match played in Batterstown on Tuesday evening.The home side started well and put 4 unanswered points on the board early.Dunboyne played themselves into the match and scored 2 goals and 2 points.Things went from bad to worse for Drumree/BHG when Sean Gavin had to be substituted early with an ankle injury.To their credit the lads dug deep and  created some fine scores to leave the half-time score even at 1-6 to 2-3.Colin Farrell deputising in goal pulled of a number of  fine saves during the course of the half. 

Drumree/Blackhall Gaels started the second-half  brightly and there was some neat passing and support play from the forwards.Josh Wall and Killian Gavin were prominent in attack and worked tirelessly throughout.The home team were unlucky not to convert a number of goal chances and with all second-half scores coming from frees  Dunboyne kept  in touch on the score-board.

The defence withstood a lot of pressure with Gareth Rooney and Niall Kelly leading the line.The final score was 2-11 to 2-8.This was an all-round team performance with the whole squad giving there all.There were fine performances from Paddy Smith,Shane Whitty,David Reilly,Josh Wall and Killian Gavin.
