Under 12s win against Killyon/Longwood

U12 Div 1 Hurling Championship


Killyon/Lopngwood  0 – 2            Drumree/Blackhall Gaels  4 – 13


The Drumree/Blackhall Gaels hurlers made it four from four, with an emphatic  away victory against Killyon/Longwood on Thursday evening.This was a great team performance as many of the squad are away on holidays at present.


Niall Gavin got our first score while converting a long-range free.Our lads settled in early to the task and began to dominate in all sectors of the field.When Killyon/Longwood did create  chances Kevin Conway was up to the task in goal,pulling of a number of fine saves.With Jamie Rattigan and Liam Hanley dominating in defence,the two Matthew’s working tirelessly in midfield and Niall Gavin and Josh Kallidas pulling the strings up front the half-time score was 1-9 to 0-2 in favour of the away side.


The aim of the second-half was to drive on and not concede any goals.Saran O’ Hora and Sean Kennedy slotted into  unfamiliar roles in defence and attack respectively and both had great games.


Drumree/Blackhall Gaels finished of a fine exhibition of hurling to leave the final score 4-13 to 0-2 in their favour .The twelve players available gave their all for the cause on an extremely warm and humid evening.Special mention must go to Kevin Conway,Niall Gavin,Liam Hanley and Josh Kallidas for fine performances.
