Under 12 Division 1 Hurling Championship

Navan O’ Mahony’s  1 – 1   Drumree/BHG  4 – 12

Drumree/BHG made it three wins from three, with an excellent team performance in this match played on Wednesday evening in Navan.O’Mahony’s started brightly and were rewarded with an early goal.Drumree/BHG didn’t panic and replied with a goal and a point from Niall Gavin.

Kevin Bawle pulled of two excellent saves in goals and Drumree/BHG added another three points.Navan were still well in this match with half-time approaching.The turning point was a screamer of a goal from Josh Kalides,who  from 30 yards out drove the sliotar to the top right-hand corner of the net.This left the half-time score at 2-5 to 1-0 in favour of the visitors.

Drumree/BHG didn’t want to let Navan back into the game and they started the second-half at a frantic pace.Kevin Bawle scored an early goal and the Drumree/BHG lads kept the score-board ticking over.The point of the match came from Odhran O’ Riordan as he picked the ball on the half-way line soloed through,and when he found himself bottled up he coolly kicked the ball over the bar.

A feature of the match was the ferocious tackling from the Drumree/BHG combination with some excellent hooking and blocking.In an all-round team performance,it is hard to single out players for mention but Daniel Byrne,Matthew Moyles,Niall Hurley and Paul Briody all had excellent matches.

The final score was 4 – 12 to 1 – 1 in favour of Drumree/BHG.
